The Young and The Restless Spoilers: Hunter King & Michael Mealor Dish On Working Together and ‘Skyle’

CBS The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Skyle is creating a ton of controversy with their reunion that came at the expense of their previous partners. Hunter King plays the part of Summer Newman and Michael Mealor plays her beau, Kyle Abbott. Together they dished up some of the details on what it’s been like to portray the latest chapter in the couple’s star-crossed love story.

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, the pair reveal that they formed a solid friendship between them from the very beginning. Hunter recalls that she didn’t really give her leading man a choice saying she told him, “You’re gonna be my friend!”

Michael remembers it a little differently saying that he remembers her being very sweet and even quiet.

Y&R Spoilers – What Do Their Portrayers Think f Skyle?

Hunter had this to say about Skyle: “I feel like because Summer and Kyle have known each other their whole lives that it’s easy for them to be themselves around each other.”

She added that she is completely different from bratty Summer which makes it fun to play the entitled blonde.

Michael added that part of their attraction is that his character doesn’t need to explain himself to Summer. He has an unconditional acceptance from her that is so different from say, his relationship with his father Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) who sets very high standards for his son.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – What Will Happen Next For Skyle In Genoa City?

They were asked about their most memorable scenes and it seems that there was a time when Summer threw a glass at Kyle but Hunter did so too early and the glass shattered everywhere. “I didn’t feel safe on set that day,” joked Michael.

They also talked about Sasha Calle who plays Lola Rosales, Kyle’s ex. “It’s so lovely to work with Sasha and see what she brings to Lola,” said Hunter. Michael added, “She is fantastic. Every time there’s a joke you know she’s there because she has such a distinct laugh.”
