The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) got a confession from Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan). While Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is struggling with the hostage ordeal, Abby seems to be downplaying the situation. Carrigan implied that Abby’s not downplaying the trauma, but has empathy for Stitch.

Y&R spoilers reveal that Stitch was pretty much fooling everyone. Toward the end of the kidnapping storyline, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) suspected Stitch’s involvement. When Devon shared his concern with Abby, she had a hard time believing Stitch would kidnap someone, especially a pregnant woman. Stitch is supposed to be the good guy, but it turns out Devon was right.

While Devon, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) searched Stitch’s hotel room, Abby had a plan of her own. She gently coaxed the truth out of Stitch and assured him that she would understand. Stitch resisted at first but eventually confessed that he was the one that took Mariah. It took a bit longer for Abby to get Mariah’s location from him, but she did. However, once she tended to Mariah, who was in labor, Abby turned around and Stitch had disappeared.

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Mariah is furious over what happened to her. She demands that Stitch be caught and arrested, which is completely understandable. While Mariah and others are demanding justice, Abby is staying quiet about the whole thing. Some fans feel that Abby is downplaying or dismissing Mariah’s trauma. There are a few that even believe Abby doesn’t care about Mariah now that she has the baby.

However, Carrigan spoke to Soap Opera Digest about the storyline. The actor discussed Stitch confessing and that he was somewhat redeemed in that moment. Stitch’s emotional damage and turmoil were also mentioned. Carrigan seemed to imply that Abby’s intention isn’t to downplay or dismiss Mariah’s trauma.

“I feel that he did get to redeem himself a little bit when he explained to Abby why he did it. It doesn’t excuse what he did but offers insight into a man who is broken. I don’t think of Stitch as a bad man. That good-guy image that he’s there for people and helps people is something he’s struggling to hold on to because he doesn’t feel those things. He’s gone down a rabbit hole, so it got to the point that he was scrambling and grasping for anything. Unfortunately, he was out of touch with how to do that.”
Abby’s reaction is more of her having empathy for Stitch. She had no idea that he had spiraled down so far. As long as he remains on the run, he probably won’t get better. So, Abby seems to be in a difficult position as she sees both sides of the equation. However, this will probably be brought up again as tensions build between Abby and Mariah. So, we will have to see what happens with this storyline.

I just hope the contract agreement sticks and Mariah can't take it back and she'll lose
in court and baby Dominic will go to Abby and I know that other name Mariah picked
is stuck in her head 'Bowie' every time she sees Abby's baby boy. Abby didn't know
Stitch was spiraling down so far and she could have seen it when he started acting
weird, Nina, Tessa and Devon noticed it right away. That's when everyone thought it
was Nina and Chance that kidnapped Mariah till she has Abby's baby boy than word
spread throughout 'Spoilers and Facebook' I kept reminding them its Stitch that's
doing this and he wants the baby but that didn't get far, he escaped to god knows
where with his son. If Rey can do his job and track him down and not bother
Adam all the time, I think he is obsessed with him lol
Rey is so useless because he has a one track mind. Why is he around, he does nothing but spy on Adam.
I like Mariah so much, and it’s understandable that her bond with Dominic (Bowie) is much deeper than it would have been if things had progressed normally.
But she signed a surrogate contract, and that baby was conceived (is it still conceived if it’s in a lab?) from Abby’s eggs.
Abbey’s blood, Abby’s DNA…Abby’s child.
Intellectually Mariah knows that.
But emotions override intellect when it comes to that kind of love.
Give baby to Mariah!!!! Chance dont want to come home to whineing brat abby and some omlett kid she mastered mine from abby eggs ,,devons sperm and Mariahs oven!! Really???? Scrambled egg marriage!!! Run Chance Run!!!!!
I think you need to show the audience that baby already! Don't we have an infant to play the newly born Abbot, Newman, Chancellor? You show all of the players emotions but what about the audience's feelings? You should have more than just a prop or a blanket playing little Dominic.
