As many fans know, Abby has been getting pretty flirty with the hot doctor in town, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). Right now it seems as though there is a mutual attraction between the two. However, Abby and Sean might soon take things to the next level. In other words, Abby likes what she sees and she’s willing to take another shot at love.

Melissa Ordway, who plays Abby on the hit soap, tells CBS Soaps in Depth in an interview, “Abby is intrigued by love. She loves that he’s a very successful doctor, and is so nice and upfront. And he’s obviously good looking! He’s got all the qualities that Abby would normally like.”

And while things are going pretty good between her and Nate, Abby does feel a little hesitant. That’s because she completely trusted Arturo just to get completely heartbroken by him. Arturo admitted that he slept with Mia Rosales (Noemi Gonzalez) behind Abby’s back.

She felt like a failure in more ways than one, simply because Abby had to work so hard to convince everyone that what she and Arturo had was real. Apparently, that wasn’t the case at all and now she’s being forced to start all over again.
Melissa added, “But her heart has just been broken. Abby is terrified to fall in love again so she has her walls up. If she says, ‘We are just friends, I’m not really interested in you but we can hang out together, she feels like her heart won’t get broken. There’s no commitment, no expectations. She can still spend time with him, but it’s not serious. Once you start calling it a date, then things get complicated. So, Abby’s desperately trying to keep it casual to protect herself.”
