However, no one knows who will play the character, however there’s speculation that actress Gina Tognoni could take on the role.
The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Is Avery Bailey Clark Returning To Genoa City?
Just to recall, Gina was let go from The Young and the Restless when she still played Phyllis Summers. The role was then given to actress Michelle Stafford and she’s been in it ever since.
With that said, there’s a good chance that Gina might not come back to The Young and the Restless, even if she’s being given a chance.
That’s because of all the rumors suggesting that it might have been Michelle who pushed her out of her role. Clearly, no one knows if that rumor is true or not.
It goes without saying that many fans on the internet had a lot to say about this possible storyline on social media.

Another critic wrote, “Gina played a better Phyllis in my opinion… not always on loopy mode…displayed different sides of ‘Phyllis’ whereas Stafford is forever the clown with the grin and the mocking attitude of everyone and everything.”
And then there was this comment as well: “Josh Griffith would waste her and I don’t know if Michelle and Gina would be comfortable working together. I know they took a picture together before and spoke positively about each other, but the way her firing was handled had to be uncomfortable.”
Now, as far as what will happen next, remains to be seen. Y&R fans simply have to tune in each and every day to find out!
