The Young and the Restless spoilers say there’s a possibility that Dylan McAvoy might come back, and it’s all because of the headlines that Steve Burton has been generating lately. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

Is Dylan McAvoy Coming Back?

Just this past week, Steve, who is best known for his role as Jason Morgan on the hit ABC soap, announced that he would be temporarily leaving the show to spend more time with his family.

The actor took to Instagram to write, “Hey everyone, I wanted to share that I’ll be taking a short break from General Hospital. I’m newly married and looking forward to spending some quality time with my family. I’m grateful for all the support and will be back this summer.”

But here’s the thing: there’s also heavy speculation suggesting that Steve might use this time to go back to his Genoa City roots to play Dylan McAvoy. The last time he was on The Young and the Restless was back in 2017.

Clearly, Y&R fans certainly did have a lot to say about the possibility of seeing Steve Burton back in Genoa City.

What’s Next For Steve Burton?

Some even took to social media to comment with, “I would hate for Burton to leave but, if he does, they need to recast him even if temporarily. If he comes back, great.”

“But otherwise, he’s got too big of a role now to just disappear off the screen for months.”

Another critic wrote, “They don’t seem to know what to do with Jason’s role now. He’s not the enforcer for Sonny too much any more, just kind of drifting around waiting to rescue someone. And once he and Britt seal the deal, there won’t be that story any more.”

And then there was this comment as well: “This is the second time that the Jason character has bailed on Britt. I was looking forward to having those two together. Bummer.”

So far Steve Burton himself has not made any comments about the matter, although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said. Watch this space as we have a feeling there is so much more to come.
