Clearly, we are talking about Eric Braeden, who is best known for his role as the one and only Victor Newman in this fictional town of Genoa City.

And while there’s no doubt that Victor is a man that you simply can’t replace – or even recast for that matter – there’s some speculation suggesting that Eric might be looking to retire.

After all, he is in his mid-eighties and a lot of fans have noticed that the actor has gotten rather quiet lately, and especially on social media.

Then again, a lot of fans can’t help but wonder if he’s simply going to be written off the show. That would put Nikki in a leading character position rather than just another supporting role in which she has always played second fiddle to her on-screen husband, Victor.

That, and there’s also the possibility that Nikki Newman might be able to carry a storyline without Victor by her side.

After all, he’s become so toxic in Genoa City that some fans are completely over him. That’s because he is operating in a way that makes everyone fear him and his unusually big appetite for control.

What’s Next For Eric Braeden?

Clearly, Y&R fans had a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some even commented with, “I think ideally, instead of some death scene, there’s a big farewell/anniversary party for Victor and Nikki sending them off on a world cruise where they are expected to be gone for several months.”

So far Eric Braeden himself has not made any comments about the matter just yet. Watch this space as we have a feeling there is so much more to come.
