The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has never been a paragon of virtue.
Even his relationship with long suffering wife Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) started off with a lie and a masquerade.
Longtime fans will remember that Victor fooled her into thinking that he was the house boy of his ginormous mansion, and that his friend, The Colonel, was king of the manor.
That was back when Nikki was a pole dancer, and now some fans have had enough. Is it time to get rid of the lying, cheating, and family-loving baddie?
Has Victor Gone Too Far?
Victor has always been a shady robber baron, but his current storyline is unprecedented. In recent days, fans have watched as he unleashed cuckoo Catty Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) on his sworn enemy Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
Victor kidnapped Jack and put him on an abandoned yacht. His family were worried sick and out of their minds with fear.
Why did Victor resort to such tomfoolery? Because he hates Jack and he used him as leverage to regain his stolen company, Newman Enterprises and its subsidiaries.
Not His First Rodeo
Patty drugged and sexually assaulted Jack, and this is not the first time that Victor has engineered sexual violence.
He also kidnapped Jack on his honeymoon to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Years back, he replaced Jack with a lookalike felon named Marco (also played by Bergman) and allowed Phyllis to be tricked for far too long.
Legacy Character
Daytime is filled with villains, and Eric Braeden is recognized as an actor in a league of his own. But this latest plot has many loyal fans crying foul.
Not only has Victor cruelly upended Jack’s life twice, he has also been especially filthy with Nikki lately.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but has Victor ever before wagged his fingers in Nikki’s face, yelled at her as if she’s a possum, and basically kicked her out of the mansion?
Is It Time For Victor to Go ?
We’d like to hear what you think, Y&R fans. What do you make of this current iteration of Victor Newman? Is he now irredeemable?
Or do you think that as a legacy character of Victor’s caliber that he has every right to stay exactly where he is?

I say it’s time to knock the ole coot down !!!
The way he treats people even his own family is disgraceful
Iam tired of the Y&R letting Victor get away with stuff and and he has his family trained to do the same thing I do not like that family
I pray that is a true spoiler and not a fake one. I have wanted Victor gone permanently for years. Either dead or on a LONG cruise.
Get rid of Victor once and for all. Someone needs to wipe that smug grin off of his face. Can’t stomach that Bastard. KILL HIM OFF!!!!!
It’s not Victor! It’s the stupid writers! They need to come up with better story lines! Or they need to be replaced! This bad writing should not be blamed on Victor!
The question in the article asks if Victor ever wagged his fingers in Nikki’s face and kicked her out of the house? I believe the answer is yes, yes and yes. Sometimes he makes me angry but every soap has at least 1 villan. I remember back to the day he and Julia came into the show looking for real estate to purchase a ranch. For me he is a love/hate guy like Erica in All My Children. I think if they let him go or if he retires it could spell the beginning and the end of the show. I just hope his cancer hasn’t come back.
[…] Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) will continue to plot against Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) as his addiction continues to worsen. […]
I grant you his character is for sure a love/hate guy. If he his character, were to be simple trickery that would be one thing, but the writers have taken it to the extreme. Thinking about him & the vindictiveness so like my ex. This man can Not tell the truth about anything. To think there are men who can literally get away with such acts as kidnapping is scary. I don’t about some fans but me personally watched my soaps to escape everyday problems. I truly wish that the writers turn Victor around, because there’s a point in one’s life that too much damage can be repaired. My ex & my attorney have devastated my life & the result is I’m struggling day to day. My attorney & my ex have one thing in common (GREED)
Do Not Kill Victor off. Let Phyllis win. Let him stay and build a new empire. Take his loss like a man, an d let his family make their own way in the world, not off what Daddy makes. Victor is a fan favorite good or bad.
