The Young and the Restless spoilers document Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) responses to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) are consistent. He does not want his stated greatest love to offer her take on Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).
Jack believes that Phyllis’ opinions about Diane are hypocritical. He also appears to consider Diane a de facto Abbott family member, a status he does not afford to Phyllis, even though her daughter is married to his son.
Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) were in general agreement about Diane. But the Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) reveal could change this couple’s sync.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Jack Abbott Wants Family Peace
Jack re-pledged his admiration of Phyllis in the recent past. She was stunned by his admission, partially because she was with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).
But Nick soon dropped Phyllis because he was being written into a new storyline that eventually paired him with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). That left Phyllis free and helped to develop her thoughts about Jack.
However, the presumed reunion between Jack and Phyllis did not happen because Bergman’s character threw her off for subjective reasons that includes her renewed battle with Kyle’s mother.
Y&R Spoilers – Phyllis Summers Is A Better Match
Phyllis did nothing heinous that should have resulted in Jack splitting up with her. His arguable overreaction happened because he convinced himself not to commit to anyone.
Yet, Phyllis recognizes that Jack has allowed Diane to sweet-talk him. Her victim approach has been working.
Jack has increased his opposition to Phyllis, seeing her as more of a threat to his mental stability than Diane. That illogical thinking is not something Phyllis has been able to overcome to date.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – On The Other Hand, Diane Jenkins’ Importance Endures
Diane is Kyle’s mother. Phyllis is not capable of overcoming that reality. So, she is banking that Jack will come to his senses.
Jack has publicly projected a neutral stance toward Diane. He does so because of Kyle and Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez). Jack appears to be rationalizing much of what Diane says, with the potential of that approach ripe for collapse.
But Phyllis realizes that Jack might be lurching toward lost cause status. He is not in a position to emotionally slice Diane from his life, and seems to be using Phyllis as a stand-in for whatever angst Walters’ character generates with regularity on Y&R.
