Tucker wanted to make an impression. He assumed Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) would be present at Kyle and Summer Newman Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) vow renewal ceremony. But Davidson’s character was still in France when that daytime event was shown to the audience.

However, wowing Ashley was not Tucker’s only intent. His arrival caught Diane by surprise because he did not tell her that he would be crashing the ceremony.

By keeping Diane in the dark, Tucker generated a genuine reaction from Diane. That allowed her to appear not to be linked to him, with her comments seemingly reinforcing that reality.

Diane has been pleading with Tucker to release the hold he has over her. He agreed to do so after she let him know that Ashley returned to Genoa City, Wisconsin.

But it appears Tucker still needs Diane to execute whatever his hidden agenda is. That means she needs to continue pretending that he was not vital to her existence in Los Angeles, California, and had nothing to do with her return-to-GC efforts.

Viewers know that Tucker reminded Diane that he facilitated her ability to announce her existence to Jack in LA and then move to Wisconsin, where she has been steadily regaining ties with him and their son.

Diane would like nothing more than to push Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) out of Jack’s mind forever. Walters’ character wants to reclaim the top spot in his heart.

While Diane’s goal seems ambitious, she has a puncher’s chance of winning this fight. Jack is vulnerable and shares a bond with her that no other woman who is alive can match.

Luan Volien Abbott (Elizabeth Sung) has been legitimately dead for years. The mother of Jack’s older son, the late Keemo Volien Abbott Nguyen (Philip Moon), was nothing like Diane, as devoted viewers recall.

Considering Tucker’s meticulous intentions, Diane seems destined to break Jack’s trust. But daytime is never fully predictable, and this is Y&R.
