Y&R showrunners asked the actress who played Lauralee ‘Lorie’ Brooks to reprise her role in two upcoming episodes, but she was on vacation and had to turn them down.
More “mature” Young and the Restless fans will likely remember Jaime Lyn Bauer for her role as Lauralee “Lorie” Brooks on the CBS soap from 1973 to 1982. However, she also reprised the role in 1984, 2002 and 2018. Bauer has also played the role of Dr. Laura Spencer Horton on the NBS soap Days of Our Lives, with the last reprise on that show being in 2018.
CBS hadn’t forgotten the popular actress and recently asked her to reprise her role as Lorie once again for two upcoming episodes. However, this time she had to turn them down.
Jaime Lyn Bauer turns down two episodes on Y&R
Jaime took to Facebook to tell fans the news, saying The Young and the Restless wanted her back for a couple of upcoming episodes. She said in her post that she is yet to finish her European trip from last year, and added that life moves at a very fast pace.
She has been enjoying a vacation, however, as she has recently returned from a month in Cancun, Mexico. Jaime wrote that it was “better than ever” and “so relaxing.”
It turned out The Young and the Restless wanted to tape those two episodes on dates that would have broken up her Cancun vacation. As family and friends had already booked to join her and her husband on the Mexican trip, she had to turn them down.
Bauer went on to wish a belated Happy New Year to her followers and friends, hoping they had enjoyed “wonderful, loving and memorable holidays.” Jaime promised that in her next post, she will try her best to finish telling everyone about their dream trip last summer.
Having reprised her role on The Young and the Restless in the past, as well as her role on Days of Our Lives, it is hoped she will feature once again on one (or both) soaps in the future.

I hope they bring back Lori, Leslie, Peggy and Chris, so that they can tell Theo all about Stuart Brooks, their Dad, his Grandfather… These ladies are his Aunts, and their children are his cousins. And the Brooks family was featured with the Foster family. Jill Foster is the only one left from those 2 original families, as they got rid of the Brooks & Fosters and brought in the Abbott’s and Newman’s to replace them. The Chancellor’s were there from the start, too… I’d love it if lawyer Greg Foster and Doctor Snapper Foster came back, too! I like the history… I’d love Nina to return, too, now that this Texas sounding Chance is around…
