The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Jordi Vilasuso (Rey Rosales) has now shared with fans his own frightening experience with COVID-19.

The Y&R star not only contracted the virus himself, but his family did as well. We are happy to report that everyone is doing fine, and Jordi shared his story as a way of reaching out and possibly helping others.

As we are all aware, COVID-19 is striking people across the globe, without regard for gender, race, socioeconomic status, etc. Jordi is no one of the many celebs who have not only had a brush with the insidious virus but thankfully has come out on the other side, healthy and well.

According to the handsome and talented actor, after he, his wife, and two daughters contracted the virus the family had a discussion as to whether or not they should share the information. In the end, they decided to discuss it, “in the hope of possibly being a source of information or comfort to someone who might be in a similar situation.”

The Young and the Restless spoilers – Jordi shared his news on Instagram

Jordi chose to post a video of him and his wife to Instagram, describing their experience. His accompanying post reads, “So it happened, friends… Our family got COVID-19. We debated sharing this but finally decided to in the hope of possibly being a source of information or comfort to someone who might be in a similar situation. 🙏🏻 Please watch the full video. From the bottom of our hearts thank you to every single person on the frontlines risking their lives to keep us safe.. thank YOU for letting us share a part of our life and our family with you. We are beyond grateful that, even in isolation, we all have each other. Stay safe our friends and #stayhomstayhomestayhome 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻 #saferathome.”

In the video, the pair say that they have been ill for three weeks, following exposure to a friend who had the virus. Jordi’s wife Kaitlin displayed symptoms first with difficulty breathing; she required an inhaler to relieve her symptoms. The next day Jordi had a temperature and tiredness, followed by their children showing symptoms.

They described their new reality as scary, and both adults had the classic symptoms of loss taste and smell.

The couple closed by wishing fans a Happy Easter and thanking all those hard workers on the frontlines who are risking their own lives to keep others safe.

In addition to Jordi, his Y&R co-star Greg Rikaart has also shared with fans his own battle against COVID-19.
