The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Love or Revenge? What’s Phyllis’ Motive For Going After Chance?

The Young and the Restless spoilers indicate that Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) romantic interest in Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) may not be all that it appears to be.

Phyllis’ love life has left Y&R fans confused. Many thought that her partnership with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) could lead to something more, but nothing ever came of it.

Then it appeared that Phyllis was going to reunite with her ex-husband Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). The two had grown closer in recent weeks, and with Chelsea out of the picture, it appeared Phyllis would swoop in and make her move on Nick. However, it seems that Phyllis has no interest in getting back together with Nick.

Phyllis has set her sights on Chance. Ever since he arrived back in town, she’s been after him about his and Adam’s secret from Las Vegas. Chance has made it clear he wants nothing to do with Phyllis and has warned her to keep her mouth shut. Yet, Phyllis continues to be a thorn in Chance’s side, and it seems the reason is that she likes him.

Phyllis keeps popping up wherever Chance goes and she’s very friendly to him, even though he doesn’t share the same sentiments.

A pairing between Phyllis and Chance would be intriguing, yet before fans can get excited, let’s remember this is Phyllis we’re talking about. There’s no telling what she’s up to.

One has to wonder if Phyllis’ feelings for Chance are genuine or if she’s using him as part of a revenge plot.

Chance is dating Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), one of Phyllis’ enemies. Phyllis is furious with Abby for firing her from the Grand Phoenix, which was Phyllis’ project. She vowed she’d get Abby back, so could her revenge plot have to deal with stealing Abby’s boyfriend.

Phyllis could also be using Chance as a way to get back at Adam. She and Adam had a falling out with Phyllis accusing Adam of not respecting her. When someone wrongs Phyllis, they’re immediately on her list. Right now Adam’s at the top and Phyllis wants to take him down. She could be using Chance to discover more about Vega, then using the information to expose Adam.
