Even though Adam and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will never be close, there will be a major shift in their relationship. Co-executive producer and head writer Josh Griffith explained how Nick will be a big influence on Adam’s future, and whether he can truly change.

Y&R spoilers reveal that the past few weeks, we have seen Adam really come to terms with the things he has done in the past. Right in the middle of Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) scheme, Adam “saw” visions of the two women in his life. Chelsea and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) were both explaining to Nick how he brought this on himself. That is when he realized that he needed to leave Genoa City for a while. Part of it was fleeing the police but the other part of it was to evaluate his life.

Nick will be a huge influence on Adam and whether he can really change for the better. Of course, whether someone changes is really up to them, but it can be complicated. People tend to be tied down to how people view them. If people always expect one to act a certain way, then they tend to stay that way. Griffith used this type of reasoning to explain why it’s been so hard for Adam to change his ways.
At the same time, he explained that Nick has the opportunity to look at his brother in a new light. That alone could be enough to force Adam to switch gears and really start to become a better man.

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Griffith told Soap Opera Digest that Adam has always been caught in a Catch-22.
“What Adam needs is for people to say, ‘Yeah, you can do this.’ The reason he’s never been able to is that it’s been a Catch-22. He keeps doing these horrible things because people expect him to. No one’s ever believed he can be anything but that.”

Y&R Spoilers – Is Redemption Possible?
Griffith said that if Nick gives Adam the opportunity to be seen in a new light, it could change everything for the character. However, he also teased that the change might not last forever.
“These guys will never be best buds, but if Nick can see his brother in a different light and give Adam the opportunity to change, maybe he has a chance to be a better man… He will come out of this determined to change his life, and if he’s successful, how long will it last?”

I would be so glad to see Adam get a break. I think it would be good to have Victor and Adam as a team. They could get Billy in line which needs to happen, bring Victoria down a few notches. And prove that Amanda’s grandfather didn’t kill Richard but did take bribes and Victoria helped cover it.
Chelsea gets busted by Ray and Michael talking to Chole about how she set Adam up.
Sharon gives Ray up because he can’t accept her bond with Adam and that with time Sharon and Adam get together and be the next Victor and Nikki.
Victoria and ESPECIALLY Nicki have been the real reason for Adams behavior. Nicki resented Adam just as she did Abby. She constantly braged for years that she was the only woman to have Victor children. When Adam showed up she poisoned Victoria and Nicholas against their brother. She told he was not part of their family. Adam was grieving the loss of his mother. Nicki sat the tone for all of the resentment toward Adam.
Adam and Sharon will never be Victor and Nikki. Of all the times we need Nick and Sharon to be like them, you always put something or someone in the way. I have figured out they do nor Nick and Sharon together. That is sad they do not want these 2 to be happy together.They deserve to be happy together. We count on this for them. get rid of Adam,Rey.These"s needto move on withChelsa and someoneelsefor Adam and not Sharon. That just ruins her character.

Yes it’s about time the writers make Adam a good guy. He has been the black sheep way too long. Stop the Victor, nick and Adam fighting. I would like to see Nick and Adam be real brothers for once!!!
I totally agree with Marie. Please don't bring Adam this far and then let him return to his old ways. We now know the reasons for Adam to be like he is. His family needs to rally him on to become a better man and not leave him. At this point he needs help proving to others that he is a different person. He now knows that his father loves him and will move heaven and earth to protect him like he has been doing for Victoria and Nick all their lives. Faith needs to see him as a changed person. Maybe he needs to save Nikki from herself. She is the one with all the doubt. It's not Adam's fault that Victor left Nikki and found Hope. Hope was a good woman and she did her best to raise Adam to be a better person. Adam is the way he is because he is more like Victor than Nick or Victoria. He wasn't raised as a brat. His mother loved and taught him well. Please let Adam become the person that turns his life around for the better. Bring out the true side of Billy Abbott. He was raised by a good family and he is worst than Adam in my book. Nikki, Victoria and Nick resent Adam. It's time for Adam to earn his respect by turning his life around for the better. He has a son to raise. I don't want Connor to become a con artist like his mom. I would like to see the good sides of Adam through Connor.
True. Nick and Sharon. Rey is no good for Sharon. He will never trust Sharon, and it appears he never did so why did he go and marry her? Rey does not fit into Sharon's life. Good bye Rey, Phyllis and Summer.
