Unless, of course, the intention is for them to meet a tragic end. “I believe that every character, whether they are portrayed as good or bad, must possess some form of redemption.

Otherwise, we end up disliking them so much that we feel compelled to eliminate them, as if a bus were to hit them tomorrow,” Cohen expressed. Indeed, Cohen is holding onto the hope that redemption is on the horizon for Detective Burrow.
