Coronavirus sent the soaps to a grinding halt as television and film production worldwide ceased as a precautionary move to prevent the spread of the virus. Now that production is slowly coming out of mothballs across the globe, it’s clear that precautions must be put in place to protect the actors and crew from catching COVID-19.
On one hand, mandatory measures must be observed, such as individuals remaining six feet apart. On the other hand, showrunners have come up with clever ways to film during this new normal, and one of the suggestions could prove to be a nice bonus for some stars.
The Young And The Restless Updates – Melissa Ordway’s Husband Is A Days Of Our Lives Alumnus
The CBS soap The Young and the Restless hasn’t begun filming yet, but its sister soap, The Bold and the Beautiful has. It is the first of the four American soaps to bet back to business and no doubt the rest are watching closely as the “guinea pig” gets the ball rolling.
B&B is implementing a ton of COVID safety measures including having the crew wear face masks, everyone staying six feet apart, intense regular set cleaning, and keeping different sets in separate areas. If additional guidelines from the television and film industry are followed, food services will not be used, child actors will not film, and actors could be asked to do their own hair and make-up.

B&B is reportedly taking the precautions a step further, considering having the soap star spouses film love scenes with their partners.
Y&R Spoilers – Will Melissa Ordway’s Husband Justin Gaston Join Y&R?
This brings up an interesting scenario for Melissa Ordway as her husband, Justin Gaston, is an actor. In fact, he was the original portrayer of the character Ben Weston on Days of our Lives!
He debuted in 2014 and the role is now in the capable hands of Robert Scott Wilson. Wouldn’t it be fun to have him join his lovely and talented wife on set, not just as a kissing partner, but as a regular cast member?

All of this is just speculation of course. But Melissa’s husband is an actor, so he would be a perfect choice to join the soap.
