Michelle Stafford Has Made It Clear She’s Not Going Anywhere
Even though her casting was rather controversial, simply because actress Gina Tognoni was let go from the role, it looks like Michelle is doing everything she can to make sure that viewers will like what they see. The last time that Michelle played Phyllis was back in 2013. She went on to play Nina Reeves on General Hospital for six years before returning to the role that helped make her a household name in the soap industry.
Speaking to Extra TV, the beautiful actress said, “It’s been six years since I worked here, and nothing has really changed. I think it’s something here at CBS Television City that makes people just ageless. I’m staying.”
What’s more, Michelle also adds that she spent a lot of time researching everything that Phyllis has done in her absence. She wants to make sure that she does her character right. She doesn’t want to disappoint her new co-stars and crew or worse, her fans.

Michelle Stafford Researched What Happened With Her Character While Away
Michelle also added, “Honestly, I spent a really long time researching and reading everything that had happened to the character — watching and every show I could — while I was away. Phyllis is really kind of controlling her life again… and possibly the town. I’m just gonna leave it at that.”
And there you have it, folks. Michelle Stafford is home, in other words. It also doesn’t look like anyone is complaining. We’ve only seen Michelle in action as Phyllis for a hot second but we already like what we see. There’s a strong possibility that after having hit rock bottom, Phyllis will be back and stronger and better than ever before. At least, that’s what our hope is. Fingers crossed!
