Claire comes onboard Newman Enterprises as a new assistant, working under Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

Claire is a pretty blonde, and although young, she seems very sharp-and maybe around the age range of late twenties to early thirties, a bit younger than Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes).

She’ll fit right in with the younger ones currently working at Newman, and Nikki feels a strange connection to her, and she likes her although the familiarity is puzzling.

Something seems familiar to Nikki, as if she’s met Claire before although she knows that she hasn’t-she’s between Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) and Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) in age.

The name “Grace” should provide a clue to who Claire could be connected to in Genoa City, and while there was also a previous Claire-Claire Laurence (Suzanne Zenor) that was 1982.

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was in town two years when that Claire left-but both he and Nikki would remember Grace Turner (Jennifer Garies); who came along in 1996.

Grace had been Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) best friend in high school, and when baby Noah became ill and not expected to live, Grace tracked down Sharon’s first child.

Sharon had given a baby away in high school and that baby became Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes), but Grace became obsessed with stealing Nick from Sharon after finding Cassie.

By that time Noah had survived his grave condition so then Nick, still married to Sharon had Noah and Cassie, later Grace also brought Mariah to town, Cassie’s twin.

Grace had blackmailed Nick into giving her a job at Newman Enterprises after he had the first drunken one night stand with her, and later a second.

Sharon found out and devastated, wandered out in front of a car and was hit-then Grace moved on to Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) for a short time, then left town.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Another Love Child For Nick Newman?

The next time Grace turned up in town she’d tracked down Mariah, and later became involved with Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby) and after his first reign of terror, disappeared again.

While Claire is too old to be a daughter of Grace and Kirsten, she is about the right age to be a love child of Nick and Grace.

Grace could have given the baby away after leaving town, since her relationship with Michael wasn’t very long, and could have easily concealed her pregnancy.

Perhaps Claire Grace has come looking for her birth parents, and that’s why she wanted to work for the Newmans. And she seems familiar to Nikki because she’s her granddaughter through Nick!
