Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) punch to Nate’s face caused a fall, with a resulting hand injury. That outcome is very problematic for a surgeon.

Devon shrugged off the details Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) volunteered about Nate’s needed trip to the hospital. Her now ex-significant other really didn’t care, but instead wanted to hear her explanation for what happened at the New Hope Clinic. Whether he pursues a course of revenge against Elena, Nate, or both will soon be known.

Elena told Devon that people make mistakes. Well, she and Nate didn’t accidentally order the wrong medical supplies, or simply keep a benign secret from Devon. Instead, they cavorted in a moment that appears to have been about more than an impulse.

The underlying feelings that Nate seems to have developed for Elena might actually be matched. It now seems possible that Sarpy’s character allowed herself to become interested in Nate as a response to Devon’s perceived interest in Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan).

Y&R Spoilers – Nate Hastings May Be The Greatest Victim

If Nate is unable to return to his vocation, then he’ll be the greatest victim. Regardless of whatever Devon feels, it would have been possible for him to eventually deal with the emotions surrounding Elena’s betrayal.

However, Nate won’t be able to think his way to having his hand return to its preexisting state, assuming that his laceration created lasting damage. Here’s hoping that’s not true, as his skill set, like all surgeons, isn’t common.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Elena Dawson Needs Time And Space

Devon’s choice to have Elena move out of the penthouse is cold, but maybe for the best. Both he and Elena deserve time and space, with Sarpy’s character truly needing to examine whatever her feelings are for Devon and Nate.

So, what seemed like a perfectly paired couple may be no more. This is strongly solid soap because Elevon, or Delena (both of which are pleasant-sounding couple’s nickname options) was on a track toward marriage and children.

This tense storyline includes great sadness and regrets, as Elena was crucial to the healing Devon achieved following the loss of his first great love, Hilary Hamilton (Morgan), and Hevon’s expected child two years ago.

As for the latest family break, Devon will need to again summon forgiveness if he wants to make amends with his cousin, who wronged him and who he has now wronged in return.
