The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Nick Discouraged – Chelsea Needs To Be With Connor

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) wants to be with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He was hoping they’d raise their children together while reestablishing the relationship they formed in the time after Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) was believed to have died in September 2016.

But Nick’s hopes are being challenged by his returned nemesis. What started as Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) acting out in response to his father running away from his problems to Las Vegas, Nevada, has turned into a crisis.

‘Chick’ was legitimately solid, until Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) death hoax cracked the reforming veneer on Y&R’s again likable couple. All who were hoping Chelsea would stay with Nick are worried that she’s allowing herself to be sucked back into Adam’s dysfunctional world.

He didn’t come right out and say it, as that wouldn’t be his style. But Adam has purposely been playing the reformed family member since Nick traveled to Vegas to inform him about Connor’s behavior.

Adam’s long-term goal has been to reestablish his family. ‘Chadam’ was everything to him in the mid part of this decade. Together he, Chelsea, and Connor were strong.

A series of events caused Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) to try and kill Adam at the infamous cabin in the woods, as Nick, Chelsea, and Connor were coming to pick him up so ‘Chadam’ could fly out of town. While that woodsy structure went boom, Adam survived somehow, though that part of the plot still hasn’t been detailed.

With however it happened, Adam’s become a threat to ‘Chick’ now.

Y&R Spoilers – Nick Newman Chooses Family Over Politics

The recent lead-in suggested that Y&R was going to have Nick be elected to public office. But his recent decision to drop out of the city council race was necessary because of anticipated public reaction regarding Chelsea’s link to Simon Black (Jeffrey Vincent Parise).

But if ‘Chick’ cracks it would become possible for Nick to continue his quest to serve the public. The family obligation he thought he had might become a moot point.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chelsea Lawson’s Conflicted Options

Chelsea sees Nick as the better guy. She felt guilty about ending their relationship in 2018 and leaving Genoa City, Wisconsin. Returning earlier this year and reviving ‘Chick’ felt right, with engagement seeming set to soon arrive.

Yes, Chelsea has a spot in her heart for Adam. That feeling doesn’t exist purely because he’s Connor’s dad either.

Moving out of Nick’s home isn’t what Chelsea ever intended until Connor couldn’t be calmed and Adam was summoned back to GC. But the needs of her son come first, which furthers conflicted options.
