While Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) might be thrilled that he got Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) to admit that she still has feelings for him and sleep with him, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) does not like what he sees — which is Adam walking out of Sally’s hotel room with a smile. He then knocks on the door and Sally answers in a robe with her hair a complete mess.

Yes, Nick knows exactly what just happened in Sally’s Grand Phoenix room and Sally can’t deny it. Yes, she still has feelings for Adam and she was lying to herself by telling herself otherwise. She can’t help how she feels and Nick is both hurt and furious.

The Great Victor Newman had just warned him that he was playing with fire by getting romantically involved with Sally when she was with Adam first and clearly in love with him. And, it turns out Victor was right.

Despite sleeping with Adam and knowing she loves him, she still fears Adam breaking her heart again and believes Nick is the safer choice between the brothers. She tells Nick that she still wants to be with him and only him, but Nick isn’t too sure of that. After all, she just slept with Adam a few minutes before this confrontation.

“Based on what just happened with Adam, nothing she says is going to be easy for Nick to accept,” Joshua Morrow said in the December 12, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “He has no interest in sharing Sally with Adam and Nick doesn’t want to play around.”

He tells Sally he wants to be exclusive with her, but Adam cannot be a third wheel forever.

“It’s pretty raw what just happened,” Morrow said. “Nick’s going to need some time to think about it and figure out if this is exactly what he wants to pursue with Sally.”
