Nick has been very distracted with worries over his sister Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) wedding to Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi). But Phyllis has been hanging around Jack more than usual and going to him for a shoulder since he blurted out that he still loves her, so there’s definitely fault on both sides! Nick and Phyllis run into each other the first time since their breakup at Society, and it of course is very awkward for the both of them!

Nick heads straight over to Crimson Lights to get some coffee and sympathy from his first wife and mother of Noah and Faith Newman, (Rory Gibson, Reylynn Caster) Sharon. The two exes had some heart to hearts about Nick’s relationship problems with Phyllis even before Phyllis broke it off, so Sharon’s not surprised. Sharon tries really hard to not say “I told you so” considering that Phyllis was the one who broke them up years ago. Sharon just wants to be supportive and someone worthy of Nick’s trust.

The Young and The Restless fans know that Nick’s feeling out in left field somewhere without a girlfriend, and estranged from his family as well! A rift has formed between Nick and the rest of the Newmans because of his desperation to prove that his new brother-in-law is a criminal and a scammer! Sharon understands how much Nick cares about his family, where Phyllis doesn’t seem to at all. Nick has a lot of his heart and a great deal of his life lately invested in them and cannot just bring himself to walk away!

Victoria had told him not to come to her wedding although he stood in the back of the room at the reception, and even their mother sided with Victoria! Nick feels like he’s being conspired against himself in a way! Nick is one of those men who cannot be without a woman in his life, and either he’s going to turn into a serial player, or he’ll go back to familiar territory!
