Matt may not remember all the horrible things he’s done, but we all know what he’s capable of!
In Y&R’s May 7 episode, Matt struck up an intriguing conversation with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) at the GCAC. Of course, Phyllis doesn’t know who Matt is yet since Matt himself is still in the dark on his true identity.
However, Phyllis’ decision to talk to Matt and engage in some witty banter could lead to trouble. Matt commented on Phyllis’ “main character energy” and seemed quite drawn to her, so what if she becomes his newest obsession?
Matt could still pose a threat in his amnesiac state, so bad news could be brewing. Whatever evil was inside Matt before is still buried in there somewhere – just waiting to come out at the worst possible moment!
There’s also the potential for Matt to have a memory flood and revert to the most sinister version of himself. Matt might even get extra twisted by pretending he still has amnesia after his memories return.
Regardless, Phyllis and Matt’s connection could bring plenty of problems. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is currently fed up with Phyllis and trying to pretend he doesn’t care about her anymore, but part of him is always going to love her.

That’s why there’s no way Nick will sit back and let Matt put Phyllis in real danger. If Matt fixates on Phyllis and it eventually puts her at risk, Nick may step up to protect her.
This situation may spiral out of control and leave Phyllis in jeopardy, but Nick’s heroic side may come back out to play. Nick lost a little of his hero energy in Vegas due to his drug battle, but he’s determined to beat his addiction and get back to normal.
Nick typically loves saving damsels in distress, especially when they happen to be his former flames. There may be a situation where Nick has to come to Phyllis’ rescue thanks to all this Matt chaos that’s sure to escalate.
