Given that Nick clearly intends to end Matt Clark’s (Roger Howarth) life, he may face consequences once this storyline reaches its peak.
Nick Was Livid Upon Finding Matt Had Been Released
After discovering that Matt had been released, Nick erupted in anger. This left him feeling frustrated, as he had previously wanted to kill Matt but was restrained by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), Noah Newman (Lucas Adams), and Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun).

At this moment, Nick is yearning for some tranquility, but he knows he won’t find it while Matt remains at large.
With the judge dismissing Matt’s case, Nick’s resolve to eliminate his long-time adversary has intensified; to Nick, Matt represents a persistent danger that will resurface unless they bring this situation to a definitive conclusion.
Nick has openly stated his intention to put Matt six feet under, making his intentions clear. If Nick Kills Matt, He Could Face Murder Charges
If that happens, Nick might find himself on trial and facing the possibility of returning to prison. However, there’s also the chance that Matt could resort to his usual deceit, as he has in the past, and frame Nick for his own demise.

In one of Matt’s earlier appearances on Y&R, he disconnected his own breathing tube and placed it in Nick’s hand while at the hospital.
This was a setup for Nick to be blamed for his death, and serving time before being cleared; he could pull a similar stunt this time, ensuring Nick takes the fall as he exits.
Matt might fake his own death again and orchestrate for Nick to be blamed, so keep an eye out for any alarming developments.
