The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will push Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) too far in an upcoming Y & R episode!
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Old Enemies Can’t Make New Friends With Each Other
Diane should know that old enemies can’t make new friends with each other, especially when one of them faked her own death and set up the other one to pay! Longtime viewers will remember that Nikki was charged with running over Diane and killing her, and Nikki’s then husband Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) was in on it! Previous Y & R episodes revealed that he had helped Diane fake her death by procuring a corpse to bury, too messed up to be recognized.
Presumably, Deacon may have also helped Diane disappear and start a new life elsewhere-probably in Los Angeles, where he lives now and works in a restaurant. Diane does nothing except gall Nikki with her perceived phony efforts to make amends.
Y & R Spoilers – Enough Of Your Phony Platitudes
Nikki’s had more than enough of Diane’s phony platitudes because she doesn’t believe any of her “redemption” stories any more than she believes Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman)! She just wishes that Diane would crawl back in the hole she crawled out of and pull it back in over herself! Diane is getting on Nikki’s last nerve and then some, and the two of them start digging at each other and trying to push each other’s buttons! Diane and Nikki know each other’s buttons very well and exactly which ones to push and when, and how! Diane keeps insisting she only wants to make up for lost time with her son, Nikki tells her she shouldn’t have played dead for over twenty years!
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Nikki Newman Thinks About Running Diane Jenkins Over Again
Nikki’s being pushed, and pushed hard by Diane and her endless diarrhea of the mouth – and it makes her physically ill to hear her rant and rave about how she’s changed! As Diane continues her oh poor me I am so sorry and I want my son to love me routine, Nikki tries to get her to just simply shut up! Worse yet, Nikki’s credibility again is being questioned after literally years because her narrative and Diane’s narrative of how Diane was “killed” are totally different!
The two women continue to argue, with Nikki warning Diane when she asks questions about Summer Newman Abbott (Alison Lanier). Nikki turns mama bear and tells Diane anything about her granddaughter is none of her business!

Y & R Spoilers – That Is The Last Straw
It’s the last straw when Diane and Nikki’s argument turns again to how Diane “died” under the wheels of Nikki’s car when Diane reminds Nikki of her drinking problem! Diane wasn’t drinking but she’s lucky that she wasn’t run over and killed by the maniac on the road! Nikki knew it – the old Diane has come back and she’s no new and improved version, and because her daughter just survived a serious accident it hits Nikki the wrong way! Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) arrives just in time to intercept Nikki before she breaks glassware on Diane’s face, which would land her an assault charge! It would be just like Diane to goad Nikki into something criminal!

Does Diane really want to make friends with her old enemies? It doesn't look like it. It looks like she's playing a sly game pushing old enemies buttons to gain sympathy and worm her way into her old families life, her end game being to to get her son and grandson to play happy families. I have been watching for many years but Diane was before I began watching. This actress is quality, she really knows how to play a character that gets under your skin.

One soap opera Wikipedia site had it incorrect that Summer donated a kidney rather than a piece of her liver to Lola , which doesn’t help me in a post about proving a point .
You are absolutely right. When I started watching there wasn't this Diane but an actress with short blonde hair playing her. So I haven't seen much of Diane's past but I did see the fight where a drunken Nikki bashed Diane over the head, couldn't remember doing it and what seemed a much too long trial in court. Thank you for clearing this up, I thought I was loosing my memory!
Yes, Maura West – that was the 3rd actress to play the part of Diane . Alex Donnelly was the first, Susan Walters was the 2nd one.
