The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chance Chancellor Just Started As Police Chief
Chance had just gotten a promotion at work as Genoa City Police Chief, with the moving away and retiring of Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) the position’s actually been open a while.
Chance knew he’d miss being out in the action as a detective, but after closing all of his former partner Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) cold cases he made a decision.
With his marriage to Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) breaking up and sharing custody of Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (River and Rainn Ware) he opted to take the promotion.
Chance had figured that Chief of Police, mainly an administrative position and a desk job would be safer. Obviously, that didn’t turn out to be necessarily true with him shot in the chest and unconscious!

Y & R Spoilers – Nina Webster Remains Calm But Rushes Over
Nina remains calm, asking how bad it is and rushes over-she finds her son unconscious and bandaged in a manner that suggests a chest wound.
Chance appears to be in recovery, the bullet already removed and he’s hooked up to a heart monitor; unconscious, but it could be post-operative anesthesia. It looks like Christine remains in the restaurant, although the concern could be seen in her face, he’d been on an overseas mission and presumed dead before.
It took a long time for the trauma of seeing his team killed before his eyes to be healed, understandably, but he’d been back to regular duty about a year now.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Sharon Rosales Is Called
Nina calls Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) who Chance has been seeing, although it’s not yet become serious-Rey’s widow and Chance became close, and others soon become aware.
Chance seems to be in a coma-possibly one induced for his body to heal-but still, it’s very concerning for those close to him.
However, he’s not in such serious condition that only his relatives can visit, as witnessed by Sharon’s visit and also Summer Newman’s (Allison Lanier) who’d been leaning on him recently.
Nina knows that Chance, even if comatose, not being denied visitors except family and being in a regular room instead of ICU is a good sign. It means that he’s expected to recover in time, and his body needs rest to do so.
