Simply put, Phyllis Summers isn’t like the rest of the women that Jack has been with throughout the years. Speaking to Soaps in Depth in a new interview, actor Peter Bergman, who plays Jack Abbott on the hit CBS soap, says that there are certain quality Phyllis has that Jack simply hasn’t seen in other girls. That’s perhaps why he’s always been so attracted to her, despite the fact that she is also one of the most volatile people in Genoa City.

The Emmy winner tells the publication, “She was not like any of the girls that he grew up with in the country club. Jack loved that this woman spoke his mind, she did not hold back. This woman was fierce and local and crazy, and Jack thought that was the coolest thing in the world. She wasn’t trying to be proper or mince words. She was unapologetically who she was – and Jack thought that was intoxicating.”

With that said though, Peter Bergman does admit that he doesn’t know if the two characters will ever get back together again, but he’s not ruling it out. But he does admit there’s a very good chance that Jack might spend the rest of his life trying to get Phyllis back. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen.
