The Young and the Restless spoilers indicate the unthinkable is about to happen—Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) morphs from a mean girl to a nice girl. In what universe can this possibly happen?!
Phyllis is Y&R’s go-to girl for all things mean and nasty. If the redemption of Phyllis is the road we’re about to go down, it’s a plot point few saw coming, but is it one viewer want to see?
The Young and the Restless spoilers – Do we really want to see Phyllis play the role of a nice girl?
She hasn’t called Christine, aka Cricket (Lauralee Bell), The Bug in a long time, but that doesn’t mean her sarcasm isn’t a welcome element among the upright, do-gooding gentry of Genoa City.
Phyllis has been the resident female baddie since her inception, actually trying to kill Christine with her car at one point.
At the moment her badness is on display as she taunts Abby (Melissa Ordway) about Chance (Donny Boaz) but that’s just amateur nastiness. Her desire to bag a guy who wants nothing to do with her is just one part of her recent storyline, which is to say there really hasn’t been many stories for Phyllis.
Y&R Spoilers – Red needs a story as large and in charge as she is
And that’s a shame for a character whose nickname is Red. Sure, it’s in reference to her fiery hair, but her personality is just as incendiary. Throwing a bucket of water on a blazing inferno might be the way to go in real life, but not on soaps where the wicked are often the most fun.
Lately, we’ve seen Phyllis bait Chance and try to convince the town pariah Amanda (Mishael Morgan) to be her friend. No one really wants to be friends with Phyllis but it’s mostly based on her past reputation.
Shouldn’t she be kicking up a current ruckus that’s worthy of her drama queen image?
The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Will Phyllis becomes besties with Sharon?
Instead, it looks as if Phyllis is about to get swept up in Sharon’s (Sharon Case) illness by trying to befriend her mortal enemy and help her.
While this is noble, is it really Phyllis? This week Red was stunned when Sharon was genuinely nice to her and naturally, her suspicion-o-meter went berserk.
Then, when she saw a chest bandage on Sharon, she started to put two and two together. Sharon blithely replied she got a tatt, which of course isn’t too likely for her.
Phyllis then tricked Nick into confirming that Sharon is sick. Phyllis has an unexpected reaction later, tearing up at the thought of what Sharon is going through and spoilers reveal she will reach out to her.
Sharon needs support, but she has plenty from her loved ones. I for one would much rather see Phyllis turn her attention to what she does best—instigating scandal and mayhem!
