The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) was the first known person to be wise to the link between Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz). What that link is has yet to be fully revealed.
It’s interesting to consider the history these two recast characters could have. Chance (as then played by John Driscoll) left Genoa City, Wisconsin, in 2011. Adam (as then played by Justin Hartley) was believed killed in 2014 and again in 2016. There was no apparent connection between them until Phyllis first mentioned it and then until Chance referenced their times together at the penthouse following the Simon Black (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) take-down.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Lost Memory Clouds Connection
Adam lost his memory as a result of the cabin blast Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) set. Viewers saw that wasn’t a ruse and that he genuinely didn’t recall his life following the explosion.
Living in Las Vegas, Nevada, the past three years was a completely different experience than being part of the Newman hurricane. Adam called himself Spider and operated as a professional poker player under the guidance of Riza Thomas (Tina Casciani). No evidence yet exists that Adam’s alter ego was in contact with Chance during this time.

Y&R Spoilers – Chance Chancellor’s Government Dealings
Viewers were told and many Y&R characters believed that Chance was driving the challenge to Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) will. He’s since said that isn’t true, meaning that some other person, possibly Colin Atkinson (played by the soon-to-be-seen Tristan Rogers), has actually been orchestrating the attempt to shift the Grande Dame’s bounty from Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) to Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard).
Chance apparently was working for the government through the years. Most recently he’s been trailing Simon, which resulted in the arrest at the Grand Phoenix hotel.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Phyllis Summers Wants To Couple

Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) ended Philly. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) felt she’d betrayed his trust and ended their relationship earlier this year.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) was Phyllis’ greatest love, which produced two marriages. But there appears to be no interest from either half of Phack in a reboot.
Phyllis has been pushing a hybrid friendship-business play to Adam for months. She also recently turned down a mega-check he offered in exchange for her leaving him alone.
The audience could see Phyllis’ obvious interest in Chance upon his arrival. Then, she arrives at the penthouse and wasn’t surprised to see Chance and Adam together. Yes, this is quite the intriguing triangle Y&R has created.
