It seemed as if the soap was going to reunite Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). However, they decided to stay just friends. While Phyllis and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) are still apart, could they have an unexpected reunion after the stand-alone episode?

Y&R spoilers reveal that Phyllis and Jack never reunited, even though that is what the soap seemingly promoted. It wasn’t just what happened after Nick’s breakup that led fans to believe this, though. Even Y&R’s official Twitter account asked who was excited about a “Phack” reunion and included an emoji with a hand raised. So, it was natural to assume that’s what was going to happen.

Instead of them getting back together, though, Jack and Phyllis didn’t want to ruin their rare and special friendship. So, what does that mean for Phyllis and Nick?

Y&R Spoilers – Nick Newman Lost

Ever since Nick and Phyllis’ breakup, Nick has seemed lost. Of course, it wasn’t just the split that has affected Nick. Actor Joshua Morrow mentioned to Soap Opera Digest what is going on with the character, who seems to be “wandering” and lost the past few weeks.

The actor explained that Nick has also lost his best friend, who is also his sister. Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) was the person Nick always turned to and now he can’t do that. Then, there is the fallout between Nick and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). So, a lot happened to Nick in a very short period of time.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Exchanging Christmas Gifts

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that in Monday’s episode, Nick will drop off a Christmas gift for Phyllis. He says that it was ordered a long time ago, before they broke up. Nick also mentions that it was custom-made, so it can’t be returned. That’s when Phyllis tells Nick that she also has a gift for him that was bought before the breakup.

They do exchange the gifts and talk for a few minutes, but it’s definitely still awkward. It is teased that both Nick and Phyllis receive the perfect gifts from each other, so that might be a clue that there is hope for them.

Y&R Spoilers – Part Of Christmas Journey

Speaking to SOD, Morrow explained that Nick’s children won’t be the only ones in his Christmas journey stand-alone episode. Phyllis and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) also play a part in the journey.

“… his mom and then Phyllis pops in for a little bit. Obviously, their split was tough on him and it didn’t come at a great time. He broke up with this woman who he loves, and he doesn’t have Victoria, so he’s a mess right now…”

      It is funny when Nick tells about love for Phyllis, that makes me sick. Not one time have we heard how he loves Sharon. Has this mean he never really loved her or What? But you can read how he loves Phyllis. This is a joke. Not good chemistry all I see is sex. I know this can not be all he is after. This is sad to have watched what him and Phyllis did to Sharon all these years. He used her, even tho she was never good enough to be a Newman. Miriah has been treated the same way. And Tracie on being an Abbott. This seems to be a pattern. The writer"s say Nick and Sharon might connect down the line again. The writer"s must not read the fans comments, we want Sharon and Nick back together, so what she made mistakes, so has half the people in Genoa City. But to seems a few only get called out for what they did, while others get a slap on the hand. Sorry alittle disgusted on reading some of these clips. Hopefully one day they might put Nick and Sharon back together. Will keeping on watching and hoping. Still Team Nick and Sharon.

      I think the writers are not reading how long time, viewer from the beginning viewers, feel about Phyllis and Nick being together. Sharon is so much better for Nick than Phyllis. Phyllis meddles in everyone's affairs, and it is okay. She wants Nick to have nothing to do with his family, who does she think she is? Chemistry is mentioned often and the only chemistry the two have is sex. When Phyllis looks at Nick it is a look of, lets, go to the bedroom. When Sharon and Nick are together, look at the way they look at each other, a look of love. It is so natural and, I do not see how and why they are kept apart. Nick, Sharon and Noah together talking about the past was the perfect picture and Rey noticed it also on Tuesday's episode.
      At times I wonder if Phyllis dictate who she wants to be with as a couple and she always choses Nick. Hoping the new year will have her on the back burner also hoping Nick and Sharon will find their way back to each and remain, eventually another marriage.

      I agree with mook, Phyllis with Nick feels more about who the actress wants to be paired with rather than what the fans find realistic and entertaining. Nick being with Phyllis is not even actually plausible given the things Phyllis has done and how moral Nick is supposed to be. If he has an issue with Ashland over one past mistake he would never be with someone like Phyllis who behaves like her nasty past actions are things she's proud of, like throwing Nikki and Victoria under the bus so they could do jail time instead of her! I really wish these writers would consider these characters history instead of just writing stuff that doesn't make sense.
