But, as Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) saw, Phyllis still has Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) on the brain. Why else would Red be sleuthing around Genoa City, Wisconsin, eavesdropping on Diane’s various interactions?
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Citing Genoa City’s Distant Past
By distant, the origin year of 1973 is not being cited. Instead, Phyllis’ mention of Diane interfering in her life dates back to the first decade of this millennium.
Diane was determined to block Phyllis and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) from developing a relationship. Of course, Diane had Jack’s child, Kyle Abbott (now played by Michael Mealor).
So, the distant past dates back approximately a decade to two decades in real-time. It was more than that in soapy time, as the Kyle character debuted in 2001. Mealor is playing Kyle as approximately thirty in the current story line.
Y&R Spoilers – Jack Abbott Remains Defensive And Suspicious
Jack told Michael, when asked, that he thinks Diane may have changed. However, Bergman’s character is not openly embracing Diane Jenkins to anywhere near the degree that Kyle has.
Phyllis’ old fear has been renewed. She once saw Diane playing the baby angle. Today, it is Kyle and his son, Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez), that Diane counts on as the keys that give her access to Jack’s heart.
All was not horrible in the past with Diane. However, The Young and the Restless spoilers show Jack may never get past her choice to abandon Kyle using the ruse of supposedly being killed in self-defense by Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

Yes, Diane is Kyle’s mother and Harrison’s grandmother. But Jack does not trust Diane. That is a reason why he responded so voraciously to Phyllis’ perceived bad behavior.
