The Young and the Restless spoilers for May sweeps reveal that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) isn’t going anywhere. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will get even more determined to destroy Diane. This will cause problems in Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman-Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) marriage.

Y&R spoilers reveal that Kyle is torn over what to do about Diane. When Kyle asked what she wanted from him, Diane said forgiveness. However, the more people that Kyle talks to, the more he feels that there is no forgiveness or redemption. The preview clip for the week of May 2 confirms that Kyle and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) have Diane arrested for abandonment.

Even though Phyllis will probably be happy about Diane’s arrest, the “dead” woman isn’t going away anytime soon. It is teased that during May sweeps, Diane will work to earn Kyle’s forgiveness.
Diane knows it won’t happen right away, though. It will take a lot of time and hard work for Diane to show that her motives are genuine. As if Diane is being completely honest remains uncertain.

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Kyle will slowly forgive his mother. When Summer comes back to Genoa City, she will support Kyle in whatever decision he makes. However, this won’t be good enough for Phyllis. Nothing Diane says or does will erase the past. Phyllis will fight to get rid of Diane, but it could turn her into a person that Jack doesn’t even recognize.

Head writer and co-executive producer Josh Griffiths teased what fans can expect when Summer returns. According to the scribe’s interview with Soap Opera Digest, Diane and Phyllis’ war could directly impact “Skyle.”

“… Phyllis just wants to bury this woman, so what kind of conflict is that going to create for Kyle and Summer? Also, Summer is coming back as a strong, independent businesswoman who has been wildly successful in Milan but misses home. As Jack sees Kyle, little by little, forgiving Diane, does that open up the possibility that Jack could forgive her, too?”
If Jack and Kyle both forgive Diane, imagine how Phyllis will react. It will create a lot of controversy. As for Summer, how will she handle being stuck between Kyle and Phyllis? At some point, Summer will have to make a decision. The harder Phyllis pushes, the more Summer’s marriage could be affected. Could Phyllis unintentionally ruin Kyle and Summer’s marriage? We will have to keep watching the CBS soap to find out.

Why is Phyllis involved at all?? Kyle isn’t her son . She should mind her own business and Summer should tell her so ,if, she’s gotten so mature to stand up to herself & family . Diane show her true self in her battle with Phyllis ??

I didn't like the old Summer but I am happy to give this new one a chance. I hope she can turn Summers character into one I could enjoy in the future. I understand how you feel though, its difficult to consider enjoying a character when it has been portrayed in such a way that you just want the character to go away.
I never enjoyed this couple but I am hopeful this new actress can at least get me to enjoy Summer when she returns. If Kyle and Summer don't make it there are no other guys really available even though writers are not opposed to her cheating with family members. It would be ridiculous to bring new guys for her because there are sadly already too many fine actors waiting on this show for a decent story. I guess Chance would be an option and give Summer an opportunity to get her own back on Abby for her affair with Summers first husband Austin.
