The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Phyllis Summers Was Catching Up With Jack Abbott And She Got An “Inspired” Idea
Viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall from a recent episode that Phyllis ran into Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) at the Grand Phoenix and the two sat down and caught up with each other on the current happenings in each other’s lives. Jack received a phone call from the Jabot construction site in Washington, where they had to close the site down because of ancient bones that were unearthed and it might become an archeological site.
Phyllis asked if they were dinosaur bones but Jack said he had no idea, but they had to be tested and it might take weeks or months for the results of the testing to come back. That gave Phyllis an “inspired” idea on how to deal with Abby and sabotage her project, which is a competing resort-style hotel across the street from the Grand Phoenix, and causing Phyllis’ Grand Phoenix customers to leave because construction noise is going on nearly twenty-four hours a day.
She had tried turning Abby in for the noise, but the powers that be were not able to offer a lasting solution. Phyllis decided to see if she could find some really old bones and started digging around – literally!
Y&R Spoilers – Phyllis Goes Out With A Shovel And A Bucket To A Secluded Area In The Edge Of A Pet Cemetery
Phyllis knows of a pet cemetery outside of Genoa City on what used to be a farm and goes out with a shovel and a bucket to an area she is aware of with unmarked graves, so as not to disturb someone’s Fluffy’s or Fido’s trip over the rainbow bridge. This area is the first part that was used where people used to bury their dead pets and at the time, wasn’t zoned for such purposes – she was aware of it because she knew about it from an old friend and they had a funeral for their dog there and they knew people who told her about it.
So she figures she’ll dig up some old dog bones and plant them in Abby’s construction site, figuring they’ll take just as long to be tested as the ones in Jack’s property. She may not find fossils but if it takes that long to be tested at least it will buy her some time to get it shut down until she figures something else out. She also has some potted flowers along she plans to plant where she’s been digging for bones to kind of throw anyone off that might wonder who’s been digging around in the pet cemetery!
She hits something big and kind of crunchy with her shovel – and thinks to herself she’s hit pay dirt. Old bones would get crunchy, right? Doesn’t the marrow dry up and they deteriorate? She knows she won’t find anything petrified like might have been found at Jack’s site but she keeps it up… she doesn’t need a whole dog skeleton just a few pieces that look like they might be from the same skeleton.
So she manages to disarticulate whatever it is she’s hit with the shovel and pulls out a BIG BONE — what the heck is buried here, a bull mastiff? So she puts that in the large garbage bag she has with her for “discoveries” and pokes around and gets a few more pieces, a couple of rib pieces she thinks and some vertebrae. She packs all that up, plants her flowers, Pl the bull mastiff for its cooperation, and leaves to rebury her spoils in Abby’s site.
The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Abby Newman Gets A Call From Her Construction Foreman
At some point later Abby gets a call from her construction foreman – they dug up some bones when they were getting ready to put in a supporting pillar. She and Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) happen to be having lunch in the Grand Phoenix when they get the call, and Abby gets a little loud when she exclaims, “BONES?!”
Chance perks up, but so does Phyllis – she can’t help but come over and snark, “What’s wrong, Abby? Did they find Jimmy Hoffa?! I heard one of Jack’s Jabot properties had to shut down construction for months because of bones being tested!” Chance interrupts, “I can look at these bones and cut out a lot of red tape for you.
Tell them not to disturb the area any more than they already have and not to touch ANYTHING!” all the while casting the side-eye at Phyllis, figuring she’s planted a bunch of dog bones or something, which she thinks that she did! He gives Police Chief Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) a call before they go over, not wanting to be classified as a rogue private investigator with FBI experience just in case they are human remains. Paul and the coroner meet Chance and Abby at the site where the bones were discovered, along with a forensic technician from the GCPD.
They are determined to be of human origin, possibly twenty to thirty years old. At the same time the owners of the Pet Cemetery have called the GCPD with a call about some strange vandalism, that someone has dug up and planted flowers in an area where there were no pets buried that they know of, having only owned the property for about ten years. Research is done and the person who previously owned the land went missing years ago – and that generates a search under the newly planted flower garden!
There they find the rest of the skeleton, and Phyllis has dug up human remains and planted them on Abby’s construction site – and although Phyllis would not be an actual suspect since the person disappeared many years before Phyllis moved to town, Chance and Paul have a talk about Phyllis’ snarky remarks about Jimmy Hoffa and Paul decides that’s enough to bring her in for questioning as a “person of interest” anyway, wanting to teach her a long-needed lesson and maybe finally give her a little payback for that dead octopus ruining his and Christine Blair’s (Lauralee Bell) wedding night!
He legitimately does need to get her statement about digging up the bones, anyway, but he decides to let her get a little nervous first! Stay tuned to The Young and The Restless, and keep checking The Young and The Restless spoilers frequently for all the latest news, updates and developments!
I was hoping the hotel wars storyline would be a lot more interesting. I’m tired of Phyllis and Abby obsessing over each other.
I am sick of this childish hotel nonsense. Abby’s character desperately needs a better storyline far away from talentless and boring Phyllis. I enjoy watching Abby and the actress would be more entertaining in a sensible storyline. The GP should be burned down and Phyllis along with it.
