Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) is the killer, or so fans have been led to believe. She did black out for a crucial period of time, so if the writers want to retcon this plot, they have the perfect out.
But for now it looks like Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will hound Sharon to the depths of hell before she’ll allow her baby boy to take the fall. How exactly will Red get Sharon to confess? The answer may surprise you!

In the Y&R October 18 episode Phyllis wasted no time letting it be known to Daniel, Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant), and Summer Newman (Alison Lanier) that she believes Sharon is framing Daniel. The family looked unconvinced at first, but eventually Daniel seemed to think his mom could be right.

Sharon has killed before, and this could be the key to busting her for Heather’s death. Phyllis will have to get sneaky to expose Sharon but deceit is right up her alley. It’s far fetched to believe that Sharon would confess if confronted, so Red may decide to bug Sharon’s house.
What would Phyllis discover if she planted a listening device in the cottage? She would get an earful since Sharon is carrying on conversations with the man she murdered, Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby).

Still, it would have to be proven that Sharon’s admissions are truth, and it would be easy for Sharon to wiggle out of being caught. Can you imagine how she would spin things if she was heard “confessing” to a dead guy?

In that case it’s likely that she could claim to be fantasizing about Heather, who she was not fond of. It would be hard to prove otherwise, unless Phyllis can get video of Sharon’s looniness.
And that could be Phyllis’ undoing because if she makes a second trip to the cottage Sharon may find her before she can plant a video camera. We have the feeling that Red will get herself in trouble trying to clear Daniel’s name.
