The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Sharon Case believes that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is the one that got away for her character, Sharon Newman. She loved the chemistry with Morrow, and she’s heard the viewers enjoyed them together, dubbing them Chick.

Sharon was Nick’s high school sweetheart. They were together for a long time and had a beautiful family. After their daughter Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) died in a car accident, their marriage unraveled, despite both trying to make it work.

It certainly didn’t help matters when Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick had a steamy affair. Sharon grieved alone while Nick leaned on Phyllis for comfort.

“They met as childhood sweethearts. They had a wonderful 10-year marriage without interruption and beautiful children, but that blew up and evaporated even though their dream was to be that perfect couple and married forever,” Case explained to Soaps.com.

They were married for ten years, and in that time, Nick cheated on her with Grace Turner (Jennifer Gareis) and Phyllis. And who can forget Nick’s rage when she found out she was pregnant with Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) and demanded an abortion? Thank goodness she didn’t listen to him. Noah turned out to be a great addition to Genoa City.

Case reflects on Chick’s past and concludes they are better off as friends. She doesn’t think Y&R would try another Chick reunion, as upsetting as that is for the Nick/Sharon fans.

“I love the progression of their relationship. Yes, it’s sad that the lovers couldn’t get the stars to uncross. But what they lost may not have been what they believe they did. What I think got away was the destruction of the dream of being together, not the man himself.”
