Nick Newman’s Pill-Popping Problem

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that now that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) is out of the way, Shick’s next drama could be Nick’s pill-popping addiction. It’s not hard to see that Nick could develop a problem with painkillers.

He’s in terrible pain due to his recent car crash and leg injury, plus the fact that he hasn’t followed the doctor’s orders, and instead of taking it easy … he’s popping painkillers like they are candy!

In fact, there have been pivotal scenes showing Nick in distress and reaching for pills, so he’s likely headed toward an addiction arc.

It feels as though Sharon and Nick keep hurdling drama, which is interrupting their romantic reunion, so the mood swings and odd behavior that come with a drug addiction could cause major issues for the two.

Sharon Newman’s Horrific Discovery

Could Nick and Sharon reunite, or hit the sheets, as Nick struggles with addiction? It wouldn’t be difficult to see Nick pop some pills, get on a “high” and then seduce Sharon, who’d be putty in his hands since she’s so madly in love with him. There’s no way Sharon could resist doing the deed with the love of her life, right?

While there’s nothing more Shick fans would love to see, there will be trouble in paradise as Nick would dive into his dark side, due to his addiction.

What if Sharon found him unconscious from an overdose? Sharon has been through a lot the past few years, but would she know exactly what to do? How bad would she panic?

Nick’s not going anywhere, so while his addiction and overdose storyline would have some scary moments, it wouldn’t be the end of Nick … or Shick for that matter! Still, could it also set the stage for Summer Newman’s (last played by Alison Lanier) return?

Nick’s brush with death, and his susceptibility to addiction, considering the stress he’s been under thanks to Matt, and the Newman takeover, may have Summer resenting her mom, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), which would open another storyline, too!
