Once current issues are resolved and likely because of them, Sharon and Adam will be able to reconsider their connection and whether a modern version of Shadam is plausible.

Adam felt that Sharon was the best possible person to help him reach whatever the Kansas memories were. That’s happened and now he recognizes Sharon can’t be the person he leans on anymore.
Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) wasn’t around when Adam believed he was a professional poker player, who went by the name Spider. Sharon was summoned by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) because the Moustache recalled that she possessed the unique ability to reach parts of Adam’s mind and heart.
Victor’s gamble worked. Adam connected with Sharon, even though he didn’t remember who she was. The power of the soulful link stirred something inside of Spider, who returned to Genoa City, Wisconsin, and then was shocked out of his amnesia by Chloe Mitchell’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) shot to the gut.

Y&R Spoilers – Chadam Still Very Shaky
Chelsea is scared, which is why she’s been rationalizing Adam’s work with Sharon. Egan’s character doesn’t see it as the revival of a romantic reconnection, but as a means to an end.
Adam followed through on a non-lethal relationship threat when moving out of the penthouse and into a motel room on the outskirts of town. He’s since returned to Chelsea and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), which Egan’s character takes as an encouraging sign.
Even though Adam didn’t leave for long, he abandoned his family for the second time in less than a year. Viewers recall when Adam temporarily moved back to Las Vegas, Nevada, before returning because a distraught Connor jumped off a jungle gym and broke his arm.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chelsea Lawson’s Heart And Mind Damaged
Damage has been done to Chelsea’s mind and heart. This, after she allowed herself to recommit to Adam, which followed his pledge to stand by her and their son.
The looming Vegas secret, with connected murder trouble for Adam, should accompany Chadam into the fall. But eventually, Chelsea will need to determine if she can trust Adam to be a stable influence on Connor and a man who’s worth remarrying. But as Sharon wages her own battle she too will be thinking about Adam and what’s still possible.
