So, Sally has no reason not to trust Sharon even if they aren’t close.

Sharon has been good for quite a long time. So, the character is overdue to create some drama and chaos. Sharon and Nick are close, but nobody suspects anything other than friendship. While Nick is focused on Sally and the baby, perhaps Sharon’s old romantic feelings are coming back.

Sharon’s feelings, history and still being alone after Rey Rosales’ (formerly played by Jordi Vilasuso) tragic death could play into this storyline. Maybe Sharon’s protectiveness is really her hidden romantic feelings for Nick. Perhaps Sharon is subconsciously trying to push Sally away from Nick.

Taking this a step further, could Sharon be the next character to develop an obsession? Maybe Sharon will go as far as to tamper with the paternity test to make sure Nick isn’t the father of Sally’s baby. Sharon might even scene with Adam to break up Nick and Sally. In soaps, anything can happen.
