The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Shocking New Twist May Change Everything In Genoa City

The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Why This Shocking Twist Could Revitalize The Show's StorylineThe Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease that maybe the CBS soap planned to do this all along.

Perhaps the show brought in Roger Howarth to transform Matt Clarke like he did with Todd Manning from One Life to Live and Franco Baldwin from General Hospital, making a once irredeemable character someone we can actually like?

Roger’s Been” Rogering”, And The Emmy Winner Has Done It Again

Regardless, the Emmy-winning actor has done it once more. In his incredibly skilled hands, the amnesiac Matt comes across as vulnerable, humorous, and charming- genuinely horrified to discover the actions he took in the past.

So, what’s next; on one side, we desire justice for the rapist and attempted murderer, wanting him to face consequences for his numerous crimes.

Indeed, it frustrates us when our daytime dramas allow characters to evade justice, sometimes even literally-we crave to see the villains face punishment and be sent away for their deeds.

Conversely, Howarth is such a valuable addition to the show, particularly in his role as amnesiac Matt.

The Fans Have Certainly Spoken

When was the last time you witnessed Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) ignite such chemistry with her new “friend”?-it certainly wasn’t with Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) or Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian), that’s for sure.

And by the way, Michelle and Roger had that same hot chemistry when she played Nina Reeves to his Franco Baldwin on General Hospital! “A talented actor is worthy of another opportunity,” commented reader Sheila Dube on Soaps.com’s Facebook page.

“I believe a redemption storyline would be fantastic for Matt.” “Many characters on Young & Restless have experienced redemption throughout the years,” pointed out Lisa Taccariello Roberge.

Villains Have Been Redeemed Before

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) allowed Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) to think her child had perished, and now he’s acting like Mr. Nice Guy.

Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) assaulted Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and attempted to rob Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracy E. Bregman) without a second thought, yet now she’s seen as a model of virtue.

Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) engaged in sexual harassment and attempted to assault Christine Romalotti (Lauralee Bell), and now they’re considered good friends.

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) once held a romantic rival captive and fed him rats, orchestrated situations for both Phyllis and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) to be assaulted, committed numerous white-collar crimes, and now he’s-well, let’s be honest. Victor remains the same self-centered [bleep] he has always been. You catch my drift!

Why Not Make Matt’s Amnesia Permanent, And Leave Him Like He Is Now?

If we were in charge of scripting Young & Restless, we would choose to make Matt’s amnesia a lasting condition.

We would have a skilled attorney successfully argue for his release, based on the premise that the court should not penalize someone who has no recollection of their past misdeeds.

This would allow Matt the opportunity to gradually rebuild his image as a truly transformed individual.

While it may seem like a challenging feat to accomplish, keeping amnesiac Matt in the storyline would certainly be worthwhile. What are your thoughts on this idea?
