She and Kyle share shallowness in common. They are also self-involved, which begs a question. How long will it be until this new couple implodes?

Kyle is seen as appealing and useful. Their collaboration at Newman Media should prove enlightening and good soap.

Devoted fans recall that Summer (then played by Hunter King) was a sweet character. She was eventually written downward, with a reckless streak feeling pushed on the audience.

Thankfully for King, the character she long played was restored to normalcy before she departed the cast.

That was fitting and allowed the award-winning actor to pass the torch to Lanier, who has done well.

Today’s Summer would be wise to not let Kyle drag her down to the level he and Audra are reveling in.

While the apparent end of Summer and Kyle’s marriage seems destined, she is still the mother figure Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) cares about.

Maybe in time, Kyle will value Summer’s deep importance in his life and his son’s. But until then, Summer must prioritize her mother’s situation and then seek to stabilize life on Y&R.
