The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) wants to engineer her mother’s freedom. That is possible if she can locate the Emergency Medical Technician (Carson, no last name for the character played by Walter Belenky).

Summer intends to involve her grandfather. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is no fan of Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). But he is a softy for his grandchildren, and Summer’s plea will be effective.

So, in trying to help both people who he loves, Daniel responded based on circumstances. Daniel’s choice to claim Phyllis contacted him was compassionate.

He did not want Summer to have to explain herself to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Doing so gave Phyllis an extra handful of days and allowed Summer to hopefully avoid having a hard conversation with her husband.

Of course, Kyle eventually followed Summer to the Genoa City Athletic Club, found Phyllis with her and Daniel, and the ruse was exposed.

Y&R Spoilers – Jeremy Stark Was The Engineer

Summer’s plan has merit. If Carson was willing to be bribed by Jeremy Stark (James Hyde), he might also be willing to accept money to lie again.

Lanier’s character believes Carson could claim to have witnessed Jeremy try to kill Phyllis, who acted in self-defence. Viewers know that Jeremy and Phyllis were seen entering the hotel’s bathroom and the shot cut away to avoid an exposition of violence.

But, as Summer said, Jeremy is dead. So, as long as Carson can be coerced to provide a believable story, Phyllis could gain an eyewitness to her self-defence claim.

Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) is on Phyllis’ trail. He seems likely to catch her shortly unless she tires and surrenders to the authorities.

Even if Summer’s plan works, Phyllis has other legal challenges. She was involved in a faked murder hoax and has admitted that to Summer and others.

But Chance and Christine Blair Williams (Lauralee Bell) need hard evidence to charge Phyllis. The same would also be needed to convict her.

The assurance of Victor’s help will be key to Summer’s plan working. Viewers will then see if Phyllis can escape jail on Y&R.
