The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) has made a lot of comments to people about their personal lives in recent weeks. Chiding her husband, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), is par for the course where soapy marriages go. Plus, she was fully justified in telling him to back off his mother’s drama.
However, Summer’s take on Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) can arguably be seen as disrespectful. She should let Kyle handle the advice offered to his mother because of the Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) issue.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Phyllis Summers Lost Control Of Herself
Phyllis did a great job rebuilding her brand, meaning herself, when she returned from Las Vegas, Nevada, in recent years. That point in the plot represented when the recast from the great Gina Tognoni (Phyllis) to the iconic Stafford, the original Phyllis, happened.
The Grand Phoenix hotel was more than a destination. It became a symbol of what Phyllis can accomplish when she focuses on discipline rather than becoming involving herself in other’s lives.
Summer is overly influenced by her mother’s returned pattern of biting behavior but seems incapable of recognizing that similar personal flaw.
Y R Spoilers – Sally Spectra Is Pregnant
Summer had every right to be opposed to Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) becoming involved with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Sally deviously orchestrated Summer’s push out of town to Italy.
Playing off the Marchetti job as Summer’s dream was a distraction. Sally wanted to push her out of Genoa City, Wisconsin. But Summer later returned as the recast from Hunter King to Lanier happened.
But the past is the past, and the child Sally is carrying matters now, not the grudges Summer is holding. Nick is not the father. So, Summer has no beef about paternity.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Summer Newman Abbott Needs To Step Back
Summer’s pointed advice to Kyle about Diane came after she really tried to see her mother-in-law’s side. Lanier’s character has been lashing out at Diane, which is disrespectful, but can be seen as Summer wanting to protect her husband, their son, Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez), and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) from danger.
Phyllis needs help, and Summer is not inclined to give it. She may deeply regret that stance because Phyllis’ agreement to go along with Jeremy Stark’s (James Hyde) plan puts her at great risk.
Kyle and Harrison must be Summer’s priorities. Kyle must keep himself in check and follow his wife’s heartfelt, accurate advice. At the same time, he, like Phyllis, needs Summer’s support on Y&R.
