Likely a temporary win in what projects as a long battle, Kyle intends to keep his son. With whatever happens, Claire finds herself in the middle of a messy family squabble.

Harrison was kidnapped because he was with Claire. That happened during Jordan Howard’s (Colleen Zenk) multiple reigns of terrors.

Thankfully, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) eventually outwitted Zenk’s character. Michael Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) and Jordan’s nephew, Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck), assisted Jordan in moving from Victor’s self-made prison at the Ranch to a legal prison.

The result of that trauma forged a strong tie between Harrison and Claire. Summer, who was already leery of her rediscovered cousin, was humiliated because she was sure Claire was the kidnapper.

What’s resulted since hasn’t healed the rift between Lanier and Erin’s characters or aided Kyle’s cause.

Y&R Spoilers – Claire Grace Is New To Love

A heartfelt scene recently took place when Claire told her mother that she never had a serious relationship. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) did not find that to be unusual because of the horrific childhood she was forced to live with Jordan.

That moment was well-written and acted. Erin, who has been killing it in her second role on this show, projected an entirely believable vulnerability.

Through that scene, Victoria and the audience learned that Claire’s feelings for Kyle are developing through the lens of innocence.

Seasoned soap fans quickly spotted the potential love match between Kyle and Claire as that working relationship formed. They also recognize that she is different from Summer while also being established as a sustainable rival on varied fronts.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Kyle Abbott Needs An Ally

The tension between Kyle and his parents is one part of the connected plot that has felt pushed. It is not digestible to buy that he would so quickly turn on Diane and Jack.

However, that general suspension of disbelief must be accepted to create Kyle’s alienation. Mealor’s character needs an ally to further advance to that state.

Claire, rather than Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), should fill this role. As Summer fights Kyle for control of Harrison, the more likely it is that he leans on Claire for support and encouragement.

That soapy mix, combined with Claire’s expanding romantic feelings, should lead to a new couple forming.
