The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Singer’s Nodes Have Caused Many Early Retirements

Singer’s nodes, or nodules, have caused many early retirements of famous singers over the years, Julie Andrews among them. There have been advances that have allowed famous singers such as Adele and Miley Cyrus to continue their careers, with surgeries being successful unlike that of Miss Andrews. One option is a new laser surgery procedure that involves no cutting of the vocal cords to remove the nodules, so Tessa is not without options.

Tessa recently went to see a doctor about her unending sore throat at Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) insistence and came home with a possibly dire diagnosis; vocal cord nodules. They usually form in those who use their voice for a living, not only singers, but speakers, announcers, and phone workers such as customer service representatives.

Y & R Spoilers – Tessa Porter Naturally Is Worried

Naturally, Tessa is worried – she has a successful album recently released and needs to get back to touring after her wedding to Mariah. But if she continues to sing and not rest her voice, she faces the possibility of the nodules causing her to lose her voice permanently due to vocal cords. The recently married couple won’t go under financially, with Mariah having a secure and successful well-paying job, but Tessa would lose her dream career! Tessa’s music is a big part of who she is and how she sees herself and losing that would cause deep emotional and mental damage. She could still write songs, but others would sing them and pushing songs to other artists to sing isn’t always a successful endeavor.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Tessa Porter Is In A Panic From Her Dire Diagnosis

Tessa is basically in a panic from her dire diagnosis and Tessa and Mariah are at Crimson Lights when Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) approaches them. Kyle tells Tessa that he just purchased tickets to one of Tessa’s upcoming concerts, and she sadly informs him that her tour has had to be postponed. Since Kyle is a close friend of theirs, they let him in on Tessa’s health condition, which they have been keeping secret from her fans and the general public.

Kyle, of course, is dismayed to hear of Tessa’s diagnosis and he suggests that she gets a second opinion. Tessa and Mariah find out that Elena had successfully treated her uncle Jett Slade (Gilbert Glenn Brown) for the same condition and contact her.

Right now, Elena is in Hawaii for a conference, but she is very concerned for Tessa and tells her she will call her as soon as she’s back in town. She is working on developing a podcast but she is still actively practicing medicine for the time being and she will want to do further tests. She tells Tessa that her uncle Jett had a bad case of vocal cord nodules but he is completely healed and back in business again. She gives Tessa a lot of hope, but cautions her that she has to see her first before making any promises.

My son had nodules when he was 3 years old. His voice sounded like that of an old man who had smoked for 50 years. He had surgery and was fine.
