The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Theo Proven Right About Kyle – Time For Him To Move On With Lola

Tyler Johnson (Theo Vanderway) is a recast on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Hardcore fans recall that Nic Luken (Theo) debuted as the agent influencer and New York friend of Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) in May 2019. Luken appeared for a few episodes until Johnson assumed the role.

Initially said to be a revived side kick for Kyle, Theo was later revealed to be far more than that. Another great performance by Marla Adams (Dina Mergeron) was part of an arc that led to the confirmation that Theo was a blood relative. Dina’s grandson connected him genetically to Kyle, which set Mealor’s character off.

Conflict between Mealor and Johnson’s characters was merely furthered by the genetic revelation. Preexisting angst began in the Big Apple during the mid-part of the last decade, but more currently involved Theo’s interference in Kyle’s life and interest in the then Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle).

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Kola Called Out As False

Theo wasn’t the first one to have openly called out Kyle as not being right for Lola. At the time it seemed fully preposterous. Fans are also right to cite Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) repeated tells to Kyle, regarding Lola not being right for him. However, those pleas were seen, now wrongly in retrospect, as being self-serving.

In reality, Summer was right all along, with Theo becoming the second person to identify that something was off in that marriage. Lola realized the truth herself awhile after the ‘Kola’ wedding last year, challenging Kyle on his true feelings at the beginning of February 2020.

Y&R Spoilers – Summer Newman’s Presence Plays Key Role

Theo was legitimately interested in Summer before he fell for Lola. That happened upon his arrival in Genoa City, Wisconsin.

With all the slams Kyle offered about his former friend and now cousin, Theo was fully respectful before he approached Summer. Viewers recall that Johnson’s character told Kyle that he was interested in King’s character and then made sure ‘Skyle’ was over before he became involved with Summer.

Tummer wasn’t a romantic couple and didn’t last long. Theo’s choice to cut ties with Summer didn’t create much interpersonal fallout, but did leave Summer free to reconsider the man she truly loved, Kyle.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Lola Abbott Has A Choice To Make

Lola is already leaning on Theo now that she and Kyle decided to end their marriage. How Johnson’s character responds will determine how soon, or if this teased couple happens.

Kudos goes to Johnson at this point in the plot as well. His alter ego was purposely downplayed for months, with him appearing to be someone he wasn’t twice. First, in just being Kyle’s friend, rather than also his family member. Then, in being spot on about ‘Kola’.

This solid actor has moved center stage. Theo is an influencer in GC, just as he hoped, or knew, he could be.
