Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) thinks the world of himself on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He also sees himself as a slighted soul, which is a key reason why his cousin’s perceived privilege riles him so intensely.

Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) was born into money and therefore class access. But his mother, Diane Jenkins (as last played by Maura West), was accidentally killed by Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) when Kyle was young. Diane was deranged when trying to attack her, which hardly made Kyle’s life smooth ever since.

Johnson’s character, even after confirming that he’s Kyle’s cousin, has talked himself into a stance of opposition. Along with that, Theo’s actually attempting to orchestrate Kyle’s humiliating ouster from Jabot.

Kyle loudly and repeatedly sounded the alarm after Theo arrived from New York. He gained what was considered a deep understanding of the then Mr. Vanderway during the time that the Kyle character was off-screen.

However, Kyle appears to have forgotten that Theo was genuinely respectful of ‘Skyle’. Viewers recall that couple was together in Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) forced marriage after Theo came to town last year. Johnson’s character waited until after that brief marriage was dissolved and sought Kyle’s basic permission to ask Summer out.

So, emotion has also shaded Kyle’s view of Theo. That’s a key point of contention, as Theo accurately sees Kyle as being unrelentingly condescending.

Y&R Spoilers – Even Knowing That Cousin Is Untrustworthy

Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is fully aware that his son and nephew don’t get along. He’s offered Theo a lot of man-to-man and more specifically, uncle-to-nephew advice. Jack wants to believe that Theo is being honest about wanting to get along with Kyle, but viewers are aware that’s not true.

Even in knowing that Theo is untrustworthy, Kyle has no idea that Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) recently discovered grandson has begun working with a Jabot staffer. Kendra (no actor’s name is known for this role) also dislikes Kyle, which Theo became aware of and is exploiting.

Whether, or how effective, Theo’s takedown plan is, or will be, the mere fact that he’s attempting to push Kyle out will appall Jack, whenever the plot is exposed.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Kola Over, But Skyle Back

On the upside, with however unlikely this storyline would have seemed just months ago, ‘Skyle’ is back. There’s no denying that Kyle and Summer are in love and that their mutual claim of that always has been the case is out in the open.

‘Kola’ was also a believable duo, but didn’t last because of Kyle’s own admission. The woman he loves more, Summer, is fully committed to him, which should offer comfort if his professional life is soon damaged, or destroyed.
