The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Thursday, June 4, tease that viewers will see an encore episode of Y&R that originally aired on August 24, 2006. The episode is part of Y&R’s special “Abbott Family” week, and it will focus on the family’s reaction to John Abbott’s (Jerry Douglas) death and his memorial service.

Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will look at a picture of John. Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will ask Jack why he made peace with Gloria Abbott (Judith Chapman), and Jack will explain that he doesn’t want to make things any worse than they already are for the family.

Meanwhile, Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) will talk with Gloria, wondering whether Jack was being sincere when he was kind to her. Gloria will say that she’s happy about Jack’s attitude toward her, and that John would have wanted the family to be good to each other at this time.

Gloria will be thankful for her family, and she’ll say that without them, she wouldn’t be able to get through this. Gloria will even think that Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) should wear a brighter tie, since she wants this to be a celebration for John.

Elsewhere, Billy Abbott (Scott Seymour) will tell Colleen Carlton (Adrianne Leon) that he’s not going to attend his father’s service. Billy will say that he wants to remember his father as he saw him last, in a peaceful state.

Next on Y&R, people will arrive and get settled for the funeral. Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) will give special thought to her life with John. Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) will provide comfort for Jill, who will be visibly upset by John’s death. Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will say that she wished she had spent the Fourth of July with her father. Katherine will comfort Traci as well, telling her that John would be happy that they were all together now.

Gloria Abbott Gets Shut Out Of The Funeral Service – Y&R Spoilers

The funeral will be about to start, but Gloria will not have shown up. Both Ashley and Jack will think that Gloria isn’t coming. Katherine will try to call Gloria. Later, Gloria, Kevin, Michael, and Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) will show up, astonished to learn that the funeral has already taken place.

Michael will then ask Gloria who told her what time the funeral was supposed to take place, and Gloria will say it was Jack. Gloria, Michael, Kevin, and Lauren will be horrified that Jack would sink so low as to prevent them from being at the funeral. Gloria will nevertheless give a heartfelt speech about John, as she’ll be determined to say her goodbyes.

Next on Y&R, Gloria and her family will show up at the Abbott estate. Gloria will accuse Jack of being selfish, and Jack will fire back that Gloria is selfish for ruining John’s life and putting him in jail. Lauren will say her peace, telling Jack that she’d disgusted that he did this.

Michael will be horrified as well, saying that he can’t believe Jack ruined Gloria’s chance to say goodbye to John. A terrible argument will ensue, with Jack telling Gloria that she’s not John’s wife, nor a part of the Abbott family anymore.
