The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Traci Doesn’t Know Alan But Ashley Does – Jack Prepares

The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Traci Doesn't Know Alan But Ashley Does – Jack Builds DefenseThe Young and the Restless spoilers document that Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) fears the worst but still holds out some hope.

She wants to believe that Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins) isn’t the kidnapper or his assumed-dead brother, Martin Laurent (Cousins in a dual role), hasn’t been posing as him these past months.

As fans recall, Alan was the friend Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) reached out to when she was in Paris, France. The perceived intensity of her fallout with Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) caused her to seek mental help, which is Alan’s area of expertise.

Viewers learned that Ashley and Alan knew each other for years. However, rather than a romantic angle being developed when he arrived in Genoa City, Wisconsin, the man believed to be Alan turned his interest to Traci, and a heart-warming storyline appeared to unfold.

Traci Abbott Set Up For Failure

It’s reasonable to wonder why Traci, of all people, was positioned to become Alan or Martin’s target. Though this Laurent brother may have fallen in love with her despite the crimes he’s committed.

It would be wrong to conclude that a villain can’t love. The man Traci donated her daughter Colleen Carlton’s (Tammin Sursok) heart to, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), has committed acts far worse than what Cousins’ character did. Yet, Victor undoubtedly loves Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

Even if Alan died when he and his identical twin brother fell out of that window in Paris, then it’s still possible that Martin loves Traci. Whether he also proves to be Aristotle Dumas (no actor known to be cast for this role) remains unknown.

But if so, he would have the money to potentially avoid any lasting legal consequences, just like Victor has done through many soapy years.

Ashley Abbott Back From Paris, France

Davidson is on a recurring contract. So, Ashley is only seen sporadically.

The name Alan will be used throughout this feature for ease of use, knowing that his identity has yet to be confirmed or denied. So, Alan’s acceptance of Jack’s offer to have the intended wedding to Traci at the updated Abbott mansion also implies Ashley’s return to town.

Despite Traci’s engagement with Alan, Ashley has known him far longer. That makes it reasonable to claim that Ashley’s specific insight will prove to be determinant. She can offer particular references to their time together that Martin would be unaware of.

Jack Abbott Is Always About Protecting Family

Jack is often on defense, and that’s not a slam against him. Unlike productive business strategy, looking out for family is a different consideration.

As Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) agreed, Jack’s idea to hold the wedding in the Abbot house would shield Traci from being alone with Alan in Paris. Alan’s acceptance of Jack’s pitch also meant that he would be on the Abbott’s home turf as efforts are made to determine his identity.

Viewers know that Cousins’ character is off-balance, whether it’s Alan or Martin. The setup is straightforward, with the reveal likely projecting to Traci’s hoped-for wedding day.

ridiculous storyline but if in fact that Alan is really Martin and he is dumas then I think the reason to target Traci would likely be she owns a portion of Jabot and Dumas will then own her shares if they marry he becomes her heir. That’s just my opinion and for me only explanation to go after Traci though she’s a lovely character and any man would be lucky to have her love them.
