The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Victor And Jack's Rivalry Intensifies, But Is Nikki Blaming Lauren Unfairly? The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease that the episode on Friday, May 23 provided some intriguing insights.

Fans might remember that in the May 21 episode, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) assured Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) that he would resign from his position as Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) lawyer.

Lauren’s Been Stressed Out About Michael’s Safety

Lauren has been worried about Michael’s safety and mental health for some time now, considering the risky and often unethical tasks that he assigns to Michael.

It’s well-known that although Michael frequently feels uneasy (and angry) about Victor’s commands, he still cares for his boss. In fact, they share a close friendship that resembles a father-son dynamic.

Y&R fans might remember that Michael stayed by the Newman family’s side when the unstable Ian Ward (Ray Wise) threatened them with a gun, and Victor appreciated his loyalty.

Sadly, Victor tends to forget, as seen Friday when Michael quit his job, and his ‘friend’ was furious, even though Michael told him he was doing this for his wife and family.

Lauren And Nikki Were Meeting For Lunch

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Lauren and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) gathered for lunch in the May 23 episode, where Michael’s wife informed Victor’s wife about her husband’s resignation.

Shortly after, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) arrived and joined the conversation with the two women as they discussed Michael’s departure. Although the discussion didn’t escalate too much, Nikki expressed her disapproval of Michael’s choice to abandon Victor.

She argued that Michael was the sole obstacle preventing Victor from taking bolder steps in his rivalry with Jack. Victor wouldn’t have liked it much if he had known his wife was talking with Jack, even though Lauren was there with them too.

Lauren Clapped Back

Lauren responded assertively, pointing out that there are numerous lawyers available for Victor to hire. And, that Michael should not be held accountable for Victor’s actions or feel the weight of ‘holding him back’ – a view that Jack concurred with.

Later that same day, Jack informed Diane Abbott (Susan Walters) about Michael’s resignation when they were both at the Abbott mansion.

She expressed her concerns about the implications this could have regarding Victor’s ongoing conflict with their family. Jack reassured her that Victor could ‘bring it’ because he has no qualms about fighting back.

The ongoing feud between Jack and Victor is a long-standing saga in Genoa City, with their rivalry stretching back for years.

Things Are Going To Get Ugly!

Nevertheless, it seems that things are about to take a turn for the worse; when the proverbial poop hits the fan, will Nikki point fingers at Lauren?

After all, it was Lauren who set this whole situation in motion by incessantly nagging her husband, forcing him to choose between his wife and his cherished job.

Given the ages of Jack and Victor (not to mention Victor’s health concerns), is it possible that one of them could end up in the hospital if things spiral out of control?

Upcoming spoilers indicate that anything could happen, and if either Jack or Victor suffers as a result, Nikki—being the wife of one and the friend of the other—will certainly be furious! Will she direct her anger towards Lauren; could this strain their friendship?
