Victor believes he needs proof of a money trail. The doctor who left the Peruvian clinic claims that the Lockeness Monster paid people to falsify his medical records.

It would stand to reason that Ashland covered his scaly tracks when doing so. Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) knows that agreeing to work for Victor again would involve hard asks. So, this last piece of proof might be hard to obtain if it is available.

But a recent phone conversation that Ashland had implies that he has built multiple layers of protection around this scheme. Alternatively, it is not out of the question that Ashland is laying a trap for Victor.

Victoria became convinced that it would be best if Newman Enterprises and the Locke Communications Group merged. That happened last fall, with viewers asked to believe that two behemoth companies could do so in what felt like a matter of weeks.

Victoria inherited her business savvy from her father. She has also benefited from watching his moves through the years.

So, Victoria may have placed an escape clause into the merger contract that allows her to jettison Ashland from the combined company. If not, the character Newman was recast to play should endure in Genoa City, Wisconsin.
