The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Victor “Hires” Matt To Destroy Phyllis And Cane?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) escapes jail and previews show that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is the one to inform his stunned family. What if there’s more to the escape than Victor lets on?

Victor is in a dark place at the moment and we don’t put it past him to sink to the lowest level to regain what he’s lost—with Matt Clark’s help. Let’s look at why Victor might be sinister enough to do the unthinkable.

Victor is Desperate

Victor is desperate, pure and simple. First Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) stole his empire and now Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) control it. For now.

These are dirty dogs, but Matt Clark is the dirtiest of them all. He has harassed and tortured the Newmans for decades but Victor has him where he wants him. He delivered him to jail but now there is a better use for Matt—Victor’s slayer.

Matt Clark is The Dirtiest Dog

It might seem ludicrous to “hire” Matt to do Victor’s bidding. But think about it: Victor owns Matt; why not use him?

Matt is a psychopath and those behavioral traits will come in handy when dealing with Cane, Billy and Phyllis for Victor. In other words, Matt would have no problem going after them to the point that they crack and genuflect to Victor. We can see the white flags flying now.

Victor has a History of Morbid

Cuddly grandpa Victor is also a craven criminal, just like Matt. He hired an imposter, Marco, to pretend to be Phyllis’ husband, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), and he’s tortured numerous enemies in his homemade jail cell/chianti cellar.

Victor would not blink twice at the thought of working with Matt to get everything back that has been stolen from him.

Perfect Set Up

If you’re wondering how the story ends, how vicious Matt is convinced to go back to jail after his crime spree on Victor’s behalf, don’t.

There is only one way Victor would end the story and that is with Matt’s end. Think about it: no one will know Matt is working for Victor and how convenient would it be for Victor to arrange a shootout or some other fatal way of eliminating Matt after the job is done and before he could talk?
